Best Boots for Winter

The other day I was getting ready for work while watching big fluffy flakes of snow swirl around outside. As the layers built and iced up, I realized that there was a big gap in my shoe collection. I had tall boots to tuck my leggings and skinny jeans into and spike heeled booties to rock at an indoors holiday party, but I was lacking a versatile pair of short, black, solidly heeled boots that I could wear with all styles of pants/dresses and feel comfortable wearing on streets that might be snow packed. I need something that was still stylish – a bit nicer than my Sorels and Sperrys – but was solid enough to get me where I need to go.

So I did some searching! Here are my top choices in multiple price ranges. Click on the images to shop – while they last!

Rosepoint Bell in Black Suede from Clarks ($99.99 – on sale right now!)

Fille Leather Wedge Ankle Boot by Robert Clergerie ($695)
Daniella Bootie from Elliot Lucca ($138.95)
Leather Ankle Boots from Lanvin ($1290)
Metallic Leather Ankle Boot from Maison Martin Margiela ($940)
La Joux Leather Chelsea Boot from Louise et Cie ($178.95)
Textured-Leather Ankle Boot from Chloe ($1220)
Annex Chelsea Ankle Boot from Topshop ($100)
Leather Chelsea Boot from Tod’s ($625)

    • I think 3 is my favorite too! They’re reasonably priced and probably the most versatile. Although the Clarks wedges are probably the most comfortable/easiest to walk in.
