The Gwyneth Paltrow Experiment: Day One

Well, I did it. I successfully lived one day like Gwyneth Paltrow! I think… Just 30 more to go!

This morning I woke up bright and early to get in one of my favorite classes – Jump Pilates. While this isn’t technically a GP endorsed workout, since I’ve bought her workout guru Tracy Anderson’s workouts before and read many workout articles on GOOP, it does still incorporate exercise principles that she swears by, in this case slimming your waist with Pilates-inspired moves and Tracy Anderson’s jump rebounder workout. The two big things I really need to make sure to hit hard to be GP-like are barre workouts and dance aerobics. Pure Barre and Zumba, here I come!

After my workout I came home to a nice hot bowl of quinoa, amaranth, and millet drizzled with maple syrup. Gluten- and refined sugar-free goodness!

Such a simple breakfast: cook the quinoa/amaranth/millet mix in the rice cooker on the white rice setting with a little coconut oil, then drizzle with maple syrup!

I followed it up with cashew chicken and rice for lunch then a snack of trail mix (the no chocolate kind). Then for dinner I made Grilled Jerk Breasts with Slaw directly from GOOP! All in all it was a great first day, but I did miss my daily dose of Hershey’s Kisses from my boss…
