Time and time again I’ve heard about the miracles Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion works, so I figured it was about time I gave it a try!
While the name “drying lotion” might be a bit confusing, this concoction is basically a mixture of salisylic acid and calmine that you dab onto pimples after cleansing your face to make them virtually disappear over night. So how did it work for me? Actually, really well! I will say that I don’t typically get a lot of large whiteheads (TMI), but on the few spots I have had since purchasing this product I have found that in the morning they are indeed smaller and less inflamed. The best part is that I have very sensitive skin and this has not overly dried or irritated my skin at all! Even when leaving it on all night. Also, while I have read some reviews that people hate the smell, I in particular find the camphur aroma to be quite spa-like and have on several occasions found myself sniffing my face… The other important thing to note is that you must resist the urge to shake the bottle! All of the pink calmine settles at the bottom so that you can dip your q-tip into the solution and get a nice concentrated dose. If you’re like me and can’t always control yourself (see slightly mixed solution above…), never fear. It will settle.
So who else swears by the stuff? Check out the video from model Suzanne Diaz below via Into The Gloss for her pimple remedy involving Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion and hydrogen peroxide…
Final verdict: success! I will definitely continue to invest in this product.
