As my wedding continues to creep up on me (Two weeks! Surprise!) I’ve been slowly but surely checking items off my to-do list. This weekend I went with my mom for my first ever Sephora makeup consultation! My bridesmaids and I will be doing our own makeup, and while I’m very comfortable with my typical routine, I wanted to chat with a professional about recommendations for my bridal look.
My mom and I stopped in to the Sephora at Scottsdale Quarter for our respective appointments with Kaila and Nina. I wasn’t able to snap any shots of my mom’s consultation for new Cover FX foundation, but she had such a wonderful experience that she wanted me to give a shoutout to Kaila who totally found her the perfect shade of foundation, plus some new Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Blush and Ambient Lighting Powder. Kaila is also getting married so her and my mom were able to chat about the joys and challenges of being a bride-to-be. Good luck, girl!
As for me, Nina totally hooked me up with a look worthy of any movie star and gave me honest, non-salesy advice which I really appreciated. She took into consideration my preference for natural products and detailed the process so that I could replicate it on my big day.
Here are the products Nina used to achieve this look (in no particular order):
1. For foundation, Nina used Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation in Light Beige (200) and Diorskin Airflash CC Primer applied with a small round, fluffy brush like this Marc Jacobs Beauty The Face II Sculpting Foundation Brush No. 2.
2. For various eye pencils, Nina used the Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Wow Defining Longwear Pencil in Ashbrown 4 (top) for my eyebrows, Givenchy Liner Couture Precision Felt-Tip Eyeliner (middle) to line my top lashline, and Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Brown (Out) 54 for my lower lashline (bottom).
3. Nina also used a variety of amazing Hourglass Cosmetics products on me as well, including the Ambient Lighting Powder in both Radiant Light (left) and Diffused Light (right) as well as the Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush.4. To contour, she used this fabulous Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in 00. It gave my fair skin the perfect natural contoured look.
5. The eyeshadow palet that she used was from Kat Von D – but I can’t find this particular one online! I’ll keep looking and will update if I find it…6. Nina said that her favorite eyeshadow primer BY FAR is this Shadow Insurance from Too Faced.7. To polish off the look Nina dabbed a few drops of this NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes.8. Finally, Nina used NARS Audacious Lipstick in Raquel on my lips! She also used a lipliner but I accidentally forgot to take a picture of that one. Whoops!I’m excited to try this look on my own! Have you ever been to Sephora for a consultation? Was your experience as great as my mom and I had with Kaila and Nina?
